Blender 2.49b is the latest stable release from the Blender Foundation. It contains lots of bug fixes and some new features!

Here's a great info resource that's been lurking right under your mouse pointer! It's a built-in HotKey and MouseAction reference, complete with search capability.
The short story is that it's located in the Help menu - "HotKey and MouseAction Reference".

Hey,
I just thought I would point you to a resource that may be new to some of you. It's Blender's complete wiki manual. It contains all of the main wiki entries for Blender documentation. The beauty of it is that everything is all on one page! However, because of that fact, it's a huge page that may take a couple of minutes to load if you're on dialup. It's worth the wait, though. It covers quite a bit, not everything, but enough to be of great value. I often use it as a quick reference.
Note that each article has a Blender version compatibility indicator. Most of the articles are rated for older versions of Blender but, they're not incompatible with newer versions. There may be the occasional minor compatibility issue, but nothing to keep you from learning the subject covered. It's a great resource and definitely makes a great addition to your bookmarks.

What better place to start than the beginning! For starters, Blender includes a very handy reference called the Blender Quick Start. You can find it in your Blender installation folder.
I will use this document as a sort of guide for the topics covered here so you can get an idea of what is to come.
Obviously, this is a PDF document so, you will need the free PDF document reader from Adobe. Most of you already have this but, just in case, here's where you can get it:

Blender has many, many capabilities and you simply won't do well with learning it using that approach. It requires hands-on access while using any learning materials. Blender is very simple to learn when you use an organized approach. My goal is to help get and keep you organized and focused.
