Lighted Christmas Tree (Part 6 - Simple Example of End Result)

This is Part 6 of 6 tutorials demonstrating the different aspects of making a lighted Christmas tree (including gift boxes).

I feel I need to apologize for the tardiness of this series. I started later than I should have and there were more holiday activities than expected. The example that I have here is only a mere shadow of what I was originally planning. I simply ran out of time and I now feel that this is so late that I really need to move on. So, I consider it all a lesson learned on how to do better planning.

Please note that my example has not been properly lit, the bows need more color variations, the smaller bows are too small, the gift wrapping needs more variety, the placement of the gift boxes needs some tweaking, the particle settings for the tree and garland needs some tweaking, the room needs walls and more atmosphere, the placement of branches near the top need a little thickening and, the star needs more life. Anyway, those are my constructive criticisms.

I hope others have learned from this little series and go on to create their own variety of ideas based on the techniques demonstrated.

Hi,
First of all, you really dont have to apologize, you are doing a great job.
I was just wondering if you are going to post downloadable versions. And finally I wish You all the best in the new 2007., and hope to see more of your great work.

Happy New Year.
From the first time I came across your blog it has become a daily ritual that I look forward to, most times more than once a day. And I'm quite sure that I'm not alone in this. Thanks again. These last 6 tutorials have been just as enlightening and entertaining as anything else that has come from your sight. I can not wait until your next!
Have a great time in 2007!

Thanks for all the kind words, I appreciate it.

Downloadable versions of the Christmas Tree series will be available by the end of the day.

Have a great New Year!

Small Teaser: This year will bring tutorials like none you've ever seen...

Christmas tutorial.
This tutorial was a struggle for me because I could not work out how you did some of the stuff. Although I could see what you were doing, I did not know what keys or shortcuts you were using to get some of the functions to happen.

If you could tell us newbies which keys you are pressing during following tutorials that’ll be great.

All the best for the New Year.
