Shape Modeling Exercise Series - #1

This is the first video in a series of videos on modeling shapes in Blender.

The point of these videos is not to model a complete object but to rather focus on different shapes and issues that you may encounter while modeling. So, essentially, these are exercises.

Hopefully, these videos will help you better understand how to approach modeling certain shapes, and what tools are available in Blender to make things easier.

(The techniques demonstrated aren't intended to be the exact solution for every scenario.)

Thank you very much for this new series. I think it's a great idea to just show how to model specific shapes instead of always teaching the creation of complete models or scenes.

Great tutorial. I'm using Blender since few years but i love these tutorials. It teaches/reminds me some very general/essential tricks.

Hardly waiting the next part(s).

These are great tutorials, thanks for taking the time out. Being a long time XSI user i've found Blender models differently than what i am used to. Ive always relied very heavily on xsi bevel tool to control the geometry both for sub d and for rounded edges on low poly stuff. So seeing basic stuff like this is really useful. Please do more!!

cheers

Paul

Nice tutorial...thanks.

2.5 has a new "rip" function. I think that is why it was separating like that. Not sure about that though.

I just started using 2.5 and I'm in interface hell.

These videos are a treasure for someone like me who can't afford time and money to learn these technics. When I found 3D modeling, I found my hearts desire. Can you show us how to make a decorative floor or table lamp?
